Engineering decisions at the design stage are critical to the success of the final product performance. General CAD platforms, Spreadsheets, hand calculations, legacy codes, rules of thumb are not good enough for communicating complex kinematic systems. 2D and 3D design and sizing are seamlessly combined with CAE simulation in an intuitive user interface to help designers explore innovative solutions and make confident engineering decisions at the early stages of product development.

The webinar describes: 

  • The right process to choose the best concept to be taken to detail analysis. The chosen concept would ensure that the targets of transmission viz, durability, NVH and efficiency will meet at the end of the design stage.
  • The quick evaluation of the right concept is then analyzed at the detail level and by applying the modifications without crossing the transmission boundaries. This right first time approach saves a lot of time, money, and resources to be used in transmission design.

Speakers

Mr. Amol Korde, Head of Software & Consultancy, Hexagon | Romax Technology

Amol Korde is a graduate Mechanical Engineer from Dr. B.A. Marathwada University Aurangabad, India. He graduated in 1997 and since then he has been working in the field of design and analysis of transmission using CAE techniques.

Before joining Romax Technology, India, he has worked in various capacities with previous employers in the field of gear development and CAE. Carrying his expertise, he joined Romax Technology, India in January 2008 as the Head of Software & Services group catering software and services solutions to a wide variety of automotive and aerospace clients across India and outside India. His main areas of expertise are transmission design and validation, NVH analysis, and multidisciplinary optimization using DOE methods. He has published papers in domestic and international conferences and journals.

Mr. Sanjay Shelar, Senior Manager - Software & Consultancy, Hexagon | Romax Technology

Mr. Sanjay Shelar is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Pune University. He has over 22 years of experience, from the past ten years of which have been in the design and development of transmissions and drivetrains.

Prior to Romax he worked in various areas including design and detailing of machine tools and their components and Engineering Services for overseas clients. After joining Romax Technology, India in 2009 he is responsible for the design and development of gearboxes and drivetrains for wind turbines, automotive applications.
