Modeling Transonic Flutter with Multi-physics Simulation

MSC Nastran Aeroelasticity is widely used for flutter analysis in the Aero Industry. Non-linearity in the Transonic region is difficult to be captured with linear aeroelastic simulation.

With MSC Nastran-scFLOW Co-Simulation, nonlinear fluid dynamics (shock wave movement and flow separation) can be considered in flutter analysis. Structural analysis is analysed with MSC Nastran & CFD with Cradle scFLOW.

MSC has developed a dedicated co-simulation platform which can address various multiphysics simulation such as, fluid structure interaction, motion coupled CFD etc.

Shripathi leads the Technical & Business Development, Aerospace& Defense at MSC Software Corporation, Indo-Pacific region.

He started his career at Indian Institute of Science as a Project Engineer. Shripathi is currently working with MSC Software on Aeroelasticity, Structural Dynamics, Optimisation, Thermal, Composites and various integrated simulation solutions since a decade.

Shripathi has credit of implementing various advanced simulation solutions at Global OEMs. He played a key role in providing integrated simulations to Indigenious Indian defense projects.

Mr. Sachin Pande, Product Architect, Hexagon | MSC Software

Sachin Pande is a proficient in Computational Fluid Dynamics specialised in the areas of High-speed flows and aerodynamics with special interest in co-simulation. He is Product Architect at Hexagon | MSC Software and responsible for verification and validation activities of MSC CoSim, which provides a co-simulation interface for the direct coupling of different solvers/disciplines with a multi-physics framework.

He is passionate about using range of Computer Aided Engineering tools for product development and improvement activities. Sachin holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
