Create anisotropic material cards from Dumbbell Injection, and Plaque Injection specimens- SFRP composites

Create high fidelity material card is important for fibre-filled plastics. These multiscale models will take into account the fibre aspect ratio, orientations and fibre volume fractions. By coupling (or replacing the native material card in FEA) these Digimat cards with FE analysis will help to predict accurately the part performances at a component level. For different performances like a static, failure, Impact, creep, fatigue etc.

Creating a material card and optimizing the parameters or calibrating the material card from the experimental curves can be done in Digimat-MF and MX. Data on different angles from 0, 45 and 90 received from Plaque injection specimens required for calibration. The workflow also exists to create the material from the Dumbbell Injection specimen (single curve) as well and will be explained during the webinar.

You will gain knowledge on:

  • Microstructure and identification methods,
  • Develop anisotropic cards from Direct injection (single curve) and plaque injection (multiple curves)
  • Applications onto the FE model with the case study.

We will demonstrate through a live demo during the webinar.

Mr. Harish Lambadi, Technical Specialist-Materials, Hexagon | MSC Software- Indo Pacific

Harish has been working with ICME (Integrate Computational Material Engineering) team at MSC Software, Hexagon. Giving technical support and executing BM projects in ICME fields for the customers working on different composite systems. Before joining MSC, he worked as a researcher at IIT Madras and IIT Hyderabad.
