Traditional ADAS / Autonomous verification methods involve comprehensive physical testing which is both time consuming and expensive. The current trend in the automotive industry is moving towards validation and verification of these Active Safety Functions in the Computer Aided Environment (CAE). Based on the components under test, the CAE Environments can be classified as Model-in-the-loop (MIL), Software-in-the-loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), Driver-in-the-loop (DIL) and Vehicle-in-the-loop (VIL).

VTD plays an important role with HIL framework which constitutes setup of virtual vehicle, scenario generation methods, simulation on real time platform and data logging tools for the development and verification of intelligent safety systems. This webinar will showcase some of the key areas where VTD can be implemented in a HIL simulation and how it can help improve the design and validaton processes of an ADAS/AV system.

Venkatesulu Reddy is currently working with MSC Software, Bangalore. He received his B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SV University in 2010. Before joining MSC, he worked in world-leading automotive companies like Continental and Bosch and has an extensive experience in ADAS / AD products and simulation like RADAR, CAMERA, LIDAR and USS. His research interests are sensor models, machine learning, digital signal processing, etc.
