Wind turbines place high demands on the efficiency of gearboxes and rely on the high accuracy of the rotating gearbox components. Gearboxes are the central components that take over the adjustment of the powerhouse, the alignment of the rotor blades up to the speed regulation. The metrological validation of the gears in the drivetrains of wind turbines is key to ensuring the quality and efficiency of the entire drivetrain system.

Karin joined Hexagon in 2008 and is responsible the powertrain analyses tool QUINDOS and the simulation software I++Simulator. Karin is based in Wetzlar, Germany. Karin started in 2008 as a QUINDOS project application engineer before transitioning into the product manager in 2013. She owns Industrial Engineering diploma from the University Siegen.
